Consulting for over 25 years as a certified manufacturing and process efficiency expert. He is the author of five books, and recipient of the prestigious Lean Crystal Award for excellence in Lean Six Sigma process implementation. Carlos is best known for guiding clients through improvement processes to help them discover new opportunities to not only take costs out of existing operations, but to increase retention and morale in today’s multicultural workforce. In that light, he has conducted leadership and training sessions on workplace diversity as a productivity asset for the U.S. military, and for a wide variety of industries and clients in the United States and abroad. People are an important part of the process, which is why Carlos is a Predictive Index Certified Partner to help organizations of every size improve their operational and managerial performance.
Originally from San Jose, Costa Rica, Carlos immigrated with his family to Southern California, where he attended Pepperdine University, in Malibu. Each year, Lean Six Sigma Specialists is a proud sponsor of the Central Coast Lean Summit conference at California Polytechnic University, in San Luis Obispo.
Just a few of Mr. Conejo’s clients include Oakley, Victoria’s Secret, Louis Vuitton, the City of Visalia, Bumble Bee Tuna, Fender Guitar, and many more. Using his knowledge as a Six Sigma Black Belt, Carlos and his team of experts helped change a bottling line process for a popular cosmetic brand, in order to increase production to 95 million units per year, versus 50 million, while accruing savings of over $100 million per year.
The Lean Crystal Award, received in 2014, is presented annually by a consortium of five thousand companies in the State of California. Carlos resides in Thousand Oaks, California and when not serving up innovative solutions to his valued clients, he is an avid gardener and endurance cyclist, where he has participated both nationally and internationally, including the Gran Fondo in Costa Rica.
